The Ada Canyon Medical Education Consortium (ACMEC) was established in 1971 to improve patient care in Idaho's Treasure Valley through the provision of continuing medical education for physicians.

Today, ACMEC works with Consortium member organizations and community partners to certify and jointly provide continuing medical education opportunities throughout the state of Idaho and contiguous states.

Collectively, ACMEC and its partners provide close to 1,300 hours of CME instruction per year, recording over 48,000 individual credit hours for providers annually.

Grand Rounds to be broadcast solely online via WebEx until further notice

Out of an abundance of caution given COVID-19, ACMEC has decided to eliminate in-person attendance for weekly Grand Rounds and solely provide sessions online via WebEx until further notice. We encourage you to check our website regularly for updates.

To view Grand Rounds remotely via WebEx:
  1. Go to www.webex.com
  2. Select Join (top right corner of screen)
  3. Enter Meeting Number 1263169182 for Wednesday morning Grand Rounds at St. Luke's , along with your name and email address.
  4. When prompted, enter the Password ACMEC2021 to log in.
  5. Connect to Audio through your computer and be sure your speakers are turned on.
  6. If you are using a mobile device you may want to download the WebEx App.

ACMEC UPDATE

Since 1971, the Ada Canyon Medical Education Consortium (ACMEC) has provided and coordinated continuing medical education for the Treasure Valley. ACMEC worked in tandem with its three original co-sponsors – the Ada County Medical Society, Saint Alphonsus, and St. Luke’s – as well as other consortium member and affiliate institutions including the Boise VA Medical Center, Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, Idaho Medical Association, West Valley Medical Center, and WWAMI for close to five decades. This collaboration across organizational lines allowed ACMEC to provide an invaluable service to our medical community, help foster a sense of comradery, and encourage lifelong learning that benefited providers and patients throughout Idaho over the years.

Therefore, we were deeply saddened when Saint Alphonsus decided to end its affiliation with ACMEC in 2016, and are again sorry to share that St. Luke’s has decided to follow suit. On April 1, 2021, St. Luke’s will no longer be part of ACMEC. Furthermore, providers who are solely employed at St. Luke’s will no longer be members of ACMEC through the hospital. Providers who have joint appointments with other consortium member institutions will have their primary ACMEC affiliation updated to that other institution. Those without a secondary affiliation can choose to continue their ACMEC membership directly ($75 annually). ACMEC members affected by this transition will be contacted by February 28th with additional information. Lastly, Wednesday Grand Rounds will continue virtually online via Webex through May 26th. ACMEC is exploring the possibility of continuing the series thereafter and will provide updates in late spring.

ACMEC’s Board of Directors has been diligently meeting with community partners and exploring ways to allow the organization to continue offering its services beyond 2021 and will share details with members as plans are finalized. We are grateful to our remaining consortium member institutions and their providers for their ongoing support of ACMEC. We look forward to continuing to work together with them to build bridges across our community that encourage learning, collaboration, innovation, and improved patient outcomes. ACMEC remains an open organization and welcomes all providers at weekly Grand Rounds at the Boise VA Medical Center and St. Luke’s, regardless of employment. We also welcome other organizations within our region that would like to partner with us to provide CME to their staff and our medical community. We look forward to continuing to evolve our organization to meet the needs of providers.
Next Steps for St. Luke’s Providers
  • If you haven’t already, please log in to your ACMEC CloudCME profile and review your contact information at https://acmec.cloud-cme.com/.
    • Email acmec@acmec.org with any questions/problems logging in.
  • Log in to the ACMEC CloudCME portal between April 1 and April 15, 2021 to download a copy of your ACMEC CME transcript for your records.
    • Important note: Providers whose ACMEC membership lapses as a result of this transition will no longer have access to their ACMEC CME transcript. After April 15th, credits will need to be verified with your St. Luke’s CME activity coordinators.
