Established in 1971 to improve patient care in Idaho's Treasure Valley through the provision of continuing medical education for physicians.
ACMEC is an accredited continuing medical education organization. It was established in Boise, Idaho, in 1971, by its three original cosponsors: Ada County Medical Society, St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. The Boise VA Medical Center joined the Consortium in 1985 and Mercy Medical Center joined in 1992. The Consortium's purpose is to provide planned CME activities to meet the medical information needs of the physicians of Treasure Valley.
ACMEC provided both Category I and Category II programming, and is a fully accredited provider for CME within the geographical border of the State of Idaho, and contiguous states. ACMEC provides approximately 400 hours of physician education annually and provides over 12,000 individual hours of credit to physicians annually.
